Anne Hegerty, 61, joined the Loose Women panel today to chat about all things The Chase and her upcoming projects. Towards the end of the programme, host Andrea McLean, 50, was forced to interrupt the quizmaster and close the show, as Anne chatted about ITV’s new series Beat The Chasers.
Following the awkward moment, a fan took to Twitter and fumed over the moment, as they claimed it was “rude”.
The social media user responded to a post taken from the official Loose Women’s Twitter account, which read: “#TheChase is on! Welcome to #LooseWomen @anne_hegerty.”
The person in question said: “Think the way Anne was cut-off was quite rude!”
But Anne was quick to downplay the awkward moment, as she admitted the ITV News was due to be broadcast.

In view of her 130,000, The Chase quizmaster replied: “In fairness, we were coming up to the news!”
Anne’s remark comes after The Governess appeared on Loose Women but was caught up in a slight mishap after presenter Andrea revealed they had run out of time.
As they discussed the premise of ITV’s new show Beat The Chasers, Loose Women host Andrea exclaimed: “OK, we’re going to have to wrap up there. I’m so sorry but we’ve run out of time.
“But whenever [the show] starts watch it.”

Fortunately, Anne seemingly appeared to not be too disheartened by the awkward moment, as she commented: “That’s alright.”
