For the last few days, Queen drummer Roger Taylor has been entertaining fans in lockdown. The 70-year-old rocker has introduced some drum lessons for beginnings going through different sections of the percussion instruments each day on his Instagram account. And most recently he’s been playing the Tom Toms.
During his part one video, Taylor played the opening of classic sixties surf track Wipe Out by The Surfaris.
The Queen drummer said: “I think the first slightly complicated thing I ever heard really was Surfaris’ record Wipe Out.
“And I suddenly realised I can kinda do that.”
Taylor then went on to play that famous drum riff.

Afterwards he said: “It’s just all on the emphasis really.
“So all you need to do is to hit the drums fast enough.
“And develop enough whip in the wrist to punctuate.”
And after smashing his Tom Toms some more, he ended with a big smile and an exclamation of: “More drink!”
