WARNING: This story contains spoilers for The Last Kingdom Will Uhtred claim back Bebbanburg in new series?

For those who have already binge-watched the new series, Uhtred started off by returning to Bebbanburg with his loyal followers to claim back his fortress.

He had reunited with his son young Uhtred (Finn Elliot) and they managed to get inside the fortress, however, their plan was ruined by the arrival of an unlikely character.

Aelfric's son Wihtgar (Ossian Perret), who was presumed dead, returns to Bebbanburg and ends up killing his father so he can take power over Bebbanburg.

He then goes to shoot young Uhtred with his crossbow, but Father Beocca (Ian Hart) jumps in front of the arrow and it strikes him, killing him instead of Uhtred's son.

Uhtred is heartbroken and has to escape Bebbanburg to save the rest of his men, leaving his best friend Beocca behind.

Fans were also heartbroken for Uhtred, as they believed he would finally be able to claim Bebbanburg as his own, which had always been his legacy.

Radio Times hosted a question and answer session with Dreymon, as well as Eliza Butterworth who plays Lady Aelswith, and executive producer Nigel Marchant.

Fans asked if a series five had been given the green light, and they were keen to know what would happen to Uhtred in the new series.

Dreymon said Uhtred "has got to go back for a second attempt" at claiming his homeland back. He added: "I would like Uhtred to get Bebbanburg."

Butterworth joked that she would also like to see her character in more fight scenes in a new series.
