Last week, ITV aired the first instalment of a three-part reboot of 70s thriller drama Van Der Valk with Marc Warren taking over the reins from Barry Foster as police boss Piet Van der Valk. The remake kicked off with a triple abduction of a political activist and two bystanders and the second episode will deliver just as much edge-of-your-seat excitement. However, viewers have picked up on some differences from the original and actor Marc agrees.

After nearly three decades the Dutch detective is back and just like the original, the detective is solving mysteries around Amsterdam.
Barry’s Piet was famous for his outstanding observation and analysis skills and Marc has slotted into the role seemingly.
The reboot was filmed before the lockdown and production have been suspended on the next batch of episodes.
However, viewers can sit back and immerse themselves in the European city while travelling abroad remains out of reach.
