Sam Mitchell 'returns to steal Queen Vic' in shocking Phil betrayal #EastEnders

Phil Mitchell (played by Steve McFadden) was devastated when Sharon Mitchell (Letitia Dean) announced she was having a trip away to Australia to clear her head on EastEnders. The dodgy dealer admitted he was buying the Queen Vic for her but his estranged wife wasn’t happy with his plans and told him he couldn’t replace Dennis Rickman (Bleu Landau) with a pub. Although Phil is still determined to move into the infamous address, he could face competition if Sam Mitchell (Daniella Westbrook) turns up.

The Queen Vic has seen a host of landlords and landladies over the years with many residents fighting to move in whenever the property goes onto the market.

Mick (Danny Dyer) and Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) have been pulling pints since they arrived on the Square but that’s set to change.

EastEnders viewers watched Linda turn to alcohol as she struggled to cope with Ollie Carter’s autism diagnosis and Mick’s health problems.

Linda’s alcoholism came to a head earlier in the year when she handed Mick divorce papers in a nod to iconic Queen Vic veterans, Dirty Den Watts (Leslie Grantham) and Angie Watts (Anita Dobson).

However, when the couple almost lost their lives during the 35th-anniversary boat crash, they realised they still loved each other and Linda vowed to give up the booze.

The mum-of-four has pretty much stuck to her word but one slip-up led to the couple deciding it was time to move out of the pub.

Meanwhile, Sharon struggled to cope with the loss of her son and Phil’s attempts to help only made it worse.

When Phil initially returned to the Square, his estranged wife was furious and blamed him for Dennis’s death.
