BBC Breakfast host Dan Walker, 43, has apologised to his Football Focus fans after revealing the "mystery" around the FA Cup trophy during a chat with Manchester City footballer Vincent Kompany, 34 today. The BBC presenter was called our for ruining the "mystique" for the football fans at home.
Be careful with the lid.
After Dan spoke to Manchester City professional Vincent about last year's FA Cup final win on BBC's Football Focus, he asked the football pro if he had his permission to lift the FA Cup trophy.
Dan asked Vincent: "This is technically yours, so you have the say here Vincent, am I allowed to lift the trophy?" to which he replied with: "Yes, go for it."
Once Vincent gave Dan the go-ahead, the star started to lift the trophy as he added: "Oh, can I? Oh well," to which Vincent interrupted him by warning up to "be careful" with the lid.
"Be careful with the lid. I think the first time I lifted it I dropped the lid on my head."

While Dan was holding the trophy, he continued: "I'll keep the lid on it very safely.
"Vincent, this is yours but we've got it for the moment. Thank you so much for talking to us on Football Focus."
He added: "Have a great weekend and we will see you again soon."
Following on from Vincent's exit, Dan announced: "Great to have a cup winner on the programme!
