The Little Birds series was inspired by a 1979 collection of erotic short stories which were written by French-Cuban author Anaïs Nin.
Little Birds was the second piece of published work by Nin, and it came out two years after her death.
She supposedly wrote the stories in the 1940s when she said she was part of a group "writing pornography for a dollar a day".
The book itself is made up of 13 short stories, which cover all sorts of topics relating to sex.
Juno Temple said she had been flying from London to LA when she read the Little Birds book.

She said: "Reading these short stories was the first introduction for me for what felt like real erotica.
"I had loved Little Birds for a long time and I got sent two episodes and I read this incredible character, Lucy.
"[Lucy] was somebody I felt had so many layers and things going on inside her, so many things are bubbling up.
"But at the same time, she can't let it out because of the time period. What I loved so much about her is you see everything through her eyes."
The series is set in Tangier, Morocco, in 1955 in what was known as the 'international zone'.
