Packing suitcases and hand luggage is a headache for those of us battling weight restrictions, however, for the Duchess of Cambridge, there is little worry of an overweight baggage charge. Yet, with the constant presence of cameras and global media, Kate Middleton does need to take into account how her clothes will look when they arrive at her destination.
Travelling with gowns for state dinners and luxurious designer garments come with the task of keeping them in mint condition.
Though it’s unlikely Kate herself packs her luggage, there are some methods she always ensures are put in place to keep her haute couture wrinkle-free and in one piece.
According to The Sun’s Royal Correspondent Emily Andrews, the Duchess often avoids suitcases at all when it comes to some of her finest garments.
Speaking on Channel 5 documentary ‘Secrets of the Royal Flight’, Ms Andrews explained: “Obviously when we go to the airports, especially when it's hand luggage only, we're trying to cram all our toiletries into that plastic bag,” she said.

She says she has “been on a plane where Kate's dresses had their own seat to make sure they were kept flat".
The journalist conitnued: "They are not going to be shoved in the hole just to be squashed by everyone else's."
