Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly joined Alex Jones and Amol Rajan on The One Show this evening to discuss their 30-year partnership. In 2018, Ant took a break from TV presenting and during their appearance on the BBC magazine show, Dec was quizzed on whether he considered the possibility of Ant quitting TV for good.
Amol asked: “Was there a little while where you thought you might have to go solo?”
“Absolutely we both did,” Dec replied. “We were very unsure as to what tomorrow would bring.
“And I didn’t know if Ant was going to come back from his period away and go, ‘You know what I want to go and be a pig farmer in Wales'.”
Interrupting, Ant joked: “That sounds good though."

“None of us knew what the future was going to hold,” Dec added.
Earlier in the interview, Ant was quizzed on how “frank” he had been in their latest book, Once Upon A Tyne.
Amol remarked: “I was taken aback about how frank you are in the book.
“You talk about highs and lows and there was a moment a few years ago where you thought there might not be an Ant & Dec anymore.
