Countryfile presenter Helen Skelton, 37, decided to return to the Blue Peter studio today to congratulate their newest recruit, Adam Beales, 20, on his presenting gig on the show. However, Helen, who presented the BBC programme from 2008 until 2013, admitted she had to make a "quick exit" after comparing herself to a "patronising old nan" while speaking to the current hosts.

It comes after Helen shared a snap of Adam and Richie Driss via Twitter in view of her 128,000 followers.
"Snuck into the Blue Peter Studio today to wish the newest recruit good luck," she wrote.
"He doesn’t need any luck or advice: talented, humble & already a massive success.
"Congratulations on the new gig @Adam_byt.

"If you four have half as much fun at Blue Peter as I did you’re in for a treat!"
While Helen intended to give some expert advice as one of the former hosts, she revealed it didn't all go according to plan.
She then spoke about her visit on Instagram by sharing the same picture in view of her 206,000 followers via her story.
While tagging other former hosts Matt Baker and Anthea Turner, Helen penned: "Look @antheaturner @mattbakerofficial I made a quick exit when I realised I was sounding like a patronising old nan 'why don't you...'
