Season seven of The 100 is the last one and swiftly approaching the end. As the show ramps up the tension towards the finale, fans were delivered a massive death which could change the CW show as viewers know it. But why was this major character killed off?

Clarke Griffin (played by Eliza Taylor) killed her best friend Bellamy Blake (Bob Morley) in The 100 season seven, episode 13.
Fans hoping for the two characters to finally become a romantic item was left devastated by the twist as Clarke made the heart-breaking decision.
The 100’s showrunner Jason Rothenberg took to Twitter after the episode aired to explain the death to distraught viewers.
He told his 186,000 Twitter followers: “For seven seasons, The 100 has been a show about the dark things that humanity will do to survive and the toll those deeds take on our heroes’ souls.

“We knew Bellamy’s death had to go to the heart of what the show was all about: Survival. Who you’re willing to protect. And who you’re willing to sacrifice.
“His loss is devastating, but his life and his endless love for his people will loom large and affect everything that comes after, to the very end of the series finale itself,”
The producer went on to hail actor Morley: “We thank Bob for his beautiful work over these long years and wish him all the best in his future endeavors [sic].”
Neither actors Taylor nor Morley, who are married to each other in real life, have posted about the huge revelation in the show.
