Former Home Secretary Jacqui stunned Strictly Come Dancing fans when she signed up to appear on the upcoming 2020 series. She explained she was “speechless” when approached to be part of the BBC dancing competition and couldn’t wait to “throw myself into the challenge”. However, it seems she could be the first to be voted off the show as she is far from favourite to win.

Speaking about taking part on the show, the Rt Hon Jaqui Smith said: “I was speechless with excitement at being asked to join Strictly – and that’s very rare for me.
“Fifty years ago, I got a bronze medal for Scottish Highland Dancing and it feels about time to return to dancing.
“I couldn’t be in better hands with the Strictly team and I’m going to throw myself into the challenge. Watch out!”
However, it seems viewers don’t have much faith in her performing well.

It has been revealed by bookmakers Ladbrokes only two bets have been placed on her lifting the coveted Glitterball Trophy.
Unlike fellow politician Ed Balls, Jaqui has failed to connect with punters and she’s an outsider to win with odds of 50/1.
However, at the other end, EastEnders actress Maisie Smith remains the favourite to win with odds of 2/1.
