BBC viewers are counting down the days until Strictly Come Dancing returns to screens, in just a few weeks time. With the full line-up for the latest series having already been announced, it’s not long until the 12 famous faces will take to the floor for the first time. Fans will also be awaiting the famously sequinned costumes - but it’s now been explained why contestant Nicola Adams is set to take a different approach this year.
Earlier this month, Nicola was revealed to be taking part in a same-sex pairing, in a historic move from the programme.
The boxing champion will be competing with one of the show’s female dancers in a show-first.
But now, it’s been revealed the soon-to-be contestant has requested to shun the traditional look.
It’s been reported Nicola has asked show bosses if she would be able to perform in trouser suits, instead of a dress.

A source said: ”Anyone who knows Nicola will be aware that her wardrobe consists of jeans and trousers so it would be really unnatural for her to wear a dress.
"As far as the Strictly bosses are concerned, it's a personal choice and they want her to feel comfortable taking part.”
And show bosses are apparently completely on board with her request.
"They've got lots of ideas for themes and will be sure to incorporate some sparkle into her trouser suits."
