Netflix UK has released subversive superhero comedy-drama Misfits, which first hit screens back in 2011 on Channel 4’s E4. Misfits is enjoying a new lease of life after landing on the streaming platform with viewers discovering the series for the first time.

The series turned its central cast into huge stars with Laura Socha winning a BAFTA Award for her performance as Kelly Bailey while the show bagged a gong for Best Drama series.
Misfits follows a bunch of teen delinquents carrying out community service for various anti-social behaviour and scrapes with the law.
On the first day of the community service, they were stuck by lighting in a freak accident and granted superpowers.
Each teen had a unique superpower relating to their personality and saw them developing as the show went on.

Simon Bellamy (played by Iwan Rheon) was the socially awkward teen of the group, who enjoyed watching Battlestar Galactica and listening to Echo and the Bunnymen.
He ended up doing community service after he got drunk and decided to burn down the house of a boy who bullied him.
However, he had a change of heart at the last minute and tried to put out the fire by urinating through the bully’s letterbox.
Unfortunately, Simon was caught by the boy’s mother and got in trouble with the police for his anti-social behaviour.
