Channel 4 ratings hit The Great British Bake Off has finally launched with the show kicking off on September 21 at 8pm. This year has another diverse group of home bakers showing off their skills in the famous white tent. Express.co.uk takes a look at when the show was filmed.
The Great British Bake Off 2020 was filmed earlier this year with the show relocating from its home of Welford Park in Berkshire to a hotel in Essex.
Filming took place for six weeks in and around the grounds of the hotel starting in July and the process proved to be much more intense than normal.
Prior to filming, the cast and crew had to self-isolate for nine days and take three COVID-19 tests before they were allowed to enter the hotel.

The cast and crew of Bake Off isolated together in a bubble at the hotel, which was lying empty due to pandemic.
Usually, series of Bake Off sees contestants coming in at weekends to film the episodes.
Instead, this series saw shooting two days on and two days off as part of the filming.
The contestants usually get the opportunity to practice their bakes during the week but as they were isolating at the hotel, the production company constructed makeshift kitchens in the car park where the bakers could trial their creations prior to filming.

There was also rigorous coronavirus testing during filming to ensure everyone involved remained safe.
