Good Morning Britain hosts Kate Garraway and Ben Shephard welcomed Gordon Brown onto the show today to chat about the response to the rise in coronavirus cases from Boris Johnson and Scotland’s First Minister Nicola Sturgeon. As the interview came to an end, Gordon sent his support to Kate and her husband Derek.
He told the GMB host: “Kate, my best wishes to you and Derek as always.
“I know how brave you are being.”
Kate replied: “Thank you very much Gordon and thank you for all of your support as well.”
Turning to co-host Ben, she added: “It’s been a tough week for Derek actually.”

“Has it?” Ben asked as Kate detailed: “Yeah it has been a tough week but it is Friday.”
“He’s still here and we’re still smiling,” Ben reassured her.
Fans know Derek was rushed to hospital in March this year when he displayed symptoms of coronavirus.
He was taken to the ICU and placed in an induced coma to help him fight the virus.
Kate has been keeping viewers regularly updated on Derek’s recover progress following her return to Good Morning Britain.
