A new episode of Power’s first spin-off aired tonight on Starz and was also made available to stream a few hours earlier. The fourth instalment of Tariq’s freshman year received some mixed reviews, especially when his professor started getting hot and heavy with her manipulative ex-fiancé.

Power Book 2, episode 4 release time: What time does Power come on?

The story of Power continues this month with a brand new follow-up series exploring the fallout of the murder of James ‘Ghost’ St Patrick (played by Omari Hardwick).

With Ghost’s wife Tasha (Naturi Naughton) preparing to stand trial for his murder, his actual killer, his own son Tariq (Michael Rainey Jr.) has started his first year at Stansfield University.

So far, the series has received a mixed reception from fans, especially with a number of new characters who haven’t lived up to expectations.

Newcomer to the Power universe Monet Tejeda (Mary J. Blige) struck up a business deal with Tariq in last week’s episode as fans discovered more about her dysfunctional family life.

In episode four, The Prince, Tariq tries to position himself at the top of the drug market on campus whilst setting the terms of his new partnership.

Although fans have been eager to tune in and watch Tariq follow in his father’s footsteps, responses to some of this season’s new cast additions haven’t been so favourable.

During last night’s episode, Book II finally started to unpack Tariq’s professor Caridad ‘Carrie’ Milgram’s (Melanie Liburd) complex relationship with ex-fiancé Jabari Reynolds (Justin Marcel McManus).

Despite breaking off their engagement after their relationship grew toxic, Carrie and Jabari were drawn together again years later after landing teaching positions at the same college.
