KATE GARRAWAY'S Good Morning Britain co-star Ranvir Singh has spoken candidly about the stark warning she received from her colleague amid the ITV News presenter's Strictly Come Dancing debut.

Good Morning Britain host Ranvir Singh, 43, was announced as one of the 12 contestants to be taking part in Strictly Come Dancing last month. The ITV anchor's co-star Kate Garraway, 53, took part in the BBC show in 2007, where she was partnered with Anton Du Beke.

Ranvir has now revealed the warning she received from Kate who explained she needs to take the show "seriously from the beginning".

The mum-of-two's advice comes after Kate previously competed on the dancing competition but was eliminated from the competition in week seven.

Ranvir is due to hit the dancefloor in a matter of weeks alongside a host of famous faces which includes; comedian Bill Bailey, boxer Nicola Adams and EastEnders' star Maisie Smith.

Taking heed of the GMB host's warning, Ranvir explained: "Kate [Garraway] said, 'You realise a few weeks in how serious the training is, so don't miss the opportunity to really hit the ground running and take it seriously right at the beginning'."

The broadcaster was not the only ITV colleague who offered the Strictly contestant some words of advice.

GMB frontwoman Susanna Reid also sent her support to Ranvir following her own experience on Strictly.

The TV anchor told her colleague the dance routines she should try to avoid on the programme.
