The Alienist has now returned for a second season on Netflix following its release on TNT earlier this year. Victorian crime thriller The Alienist has now returned with its second season entitled Angel of Darkness.
Back again are Daniel Brühl as Dr Laszlo Kreizler, Luke Evans as John Moore and Dakota Fanning as Sara Howard.
The show sees the trio back investigating a new spate of murders as it appears there is a killer on the loose.
Across the eight episodes, the mystery of one kidnapped child in 1897 soon spiralled into more.

The tension grew before the series culminated with a dramatic final episode for all of the characters.
By the finale, viewers knew who was behind the series of baby kidnappings sweeping New York.
The culprit was the former Elsbeth Hunter who was now known as Libby Hatch (Rosy McEwen).
She had been confined to an asylum for many years for the attempted murder of her mother.
