Adult Swim’s cartoon comedy took to Instagram to confirm some exciting news this week. While Rick and Morty is already available on Netflix and Hulu, the series confirmed season four will be hitting HBO Max this Sunday, November 1. However, many fans were upset that the latest post featured no updates about the upcoming fifth season.
The fourth instalment of Rick and Morty wrapped up on Adult Swim earlier this year, and the series has slowly been released on various streaming sites for international audiences.
Currently, only the first half of season four is available to watch on Netflix in the UK, and Hulu subscribers in the states are still waiting for new episodes.
A recent post on the show’s official Instagram page pleased some fans by confirming the fourth season would be making its way to HBO Max at the start of November.
Rick and Morty (both played by Justin Roiland) wrapped up their latest series of misadventures on Adult Swim in May after taking a midseason break in December 2019.

However, the gradual rollout onto various streaming services has left a large portion of fans frustrated thanks to the difficulty in accessing new episodes.
Now showrunners Roiland and Dan Harmon are currently at work on the upcoming fifth season, viewers are also expecting an update on the series’ next release date any day now.
Unfortunately, due to Rick and Morty’s infamously lengthy production schedule and complications amid the coronavirus pandemic, season five may not surface until 2022.
While some fans were pleased, most expressed disappointment following the show’s latest announcement.
