JOE BIDEN could be left furious as the US election could see Vice President Mike Pence hand President Donald victory even if he loses, an expert tells Express.co.uk.

Polls suggest Joe Biden could storm to victory as he continues to boast a decent lead over President . Mr Biden's polling average has remained above 50 percent since October 4, and the Democratic nominee has consistently polled at around ten points ahead. The Democrats have also pulled away in key swing states, although polls undercounted Mr 's support in 2016. The latest concern for the Republicans is Texas, as the Democrats close in on President in a state that has been red since 1976. While "unlikely", Mr 's recent rhetoric has created concern he could challenge the result and spark a constitutional crisis.

Prof Burman explained: "Donald has teams of people who are challenging the validity of the polls and are looking for opportunities to cast doubt on their validity.

"They will claim almost certainly, if he loses, that many of the mail-in votes are invalid.”

Prof Burman highlights how a legal challenge over votes could create a scenario where the Republicans lose the election, but still hand themselves power.
