The SNP leader has reiterated her desire for a second vote on tearing Scotland away from the rest of the UK. On the first official day of Brexit, the First Minister lashed out at the UK’s exit from the EU and insisted Scotland has left the bloc “against our will”.
Writing on Twitter, the SNP chief jumped back on the independence campaign trail and managed to weave in calls for Scotland to leave the Union, while referring to Ireland taking a seat at the UN Security Council for the next two years.
For the first time since 2002, Ireland will join the five permanent members, China, France, Russia, the UK and the US.

Ms Sturgeon wrote: “As independent Ireland takes up her seat on the @UN Security Council today, not (yet) independent Scotland is taken out of the EU against our will.

Britain officially left the EU at 11pm on December 31 following the end of the Brexit transition period.
Last night, Ms Sturgeon tweeted a picture of the words Europe and Scotland attached by a love heart, the image had previously been projected on to the side of the EU Commission building in Brussels.
