Lupin is a new crime drama series which is making its way to Netflix very soon and delves into the life of the master of disguise - Arsène Lupin. The character was first created by French writer Maurice Leblanc back in 1905, and he was originally called Lopin. Lupin was first introduced as a character in a series of short stories which formed part of the French magazine, Je sais tout.
He featured in a total of 17 novels, as well as 39 shorter stories, by author Leblanc, and the criminal mastermind has also starred in books by other writers.

The streaming platform will be releasing the series on Friday, January 8, and the synopsis says: "Inspired by the adventures of Arsène Lupin, gentleman thief Assane Diop sets out to avenge his father for an injustice inflicted by a wealthy family."
The French series should be available to stream all at once, with episodes dropping from midnight.

The main character in the series, Assane Diop, is played by French actor and writer, Omar Sy.
The married father-of-four is also known for his roles in The Untouchables, Jurassic World and X-Men: Days of Future Past.
Capitaine Romain Laugier is played by Vincent Londez - an actor known for his roles in Into the Night, Public Enemy and Missions.
The cast is also made up of actors Shirine Boutella, Nicole Garcia, Antoine Gouy, Clotilde Hesme, Hervé Pierre and Ludivine Sagnier.
Actor Sy is on Instagram and he shared a photo of the poster for the series, comparing it to the Netflix hit, Money Heist.
