Sophie, Countess of Wessex is celebrating her 56th birthday on January 20 during England's third lockdown. While the royal may have hoped to mark the milestone with friends and wider a family, a larger celebration will not be able to take place until Covid-19 restrictions are relaxed.
Sophie is expecting to spend a quiet birthday at home with her husband Prince Edward, 56, and their two teenage children - Lady Louise Windsor, 17, and James, Viscount Severn, 13.
The Wessex family live at Bagshot Park in Surrey and are understood to be spending the current lockdown there.
Sophie is not the only Royal Family member to have a birthday this month.
