Princess Diana: 'Queen of Hearts' came from novel says expert

Lady Amelia Spencer admitted Althorp House could be the perfect venue for her to Greg Mallett. Charles Spencer, Diana’s brother, still lives at the Daventry District home in Northamptonshire, which has been in the family since 1508.

In an interview with her twin sister Lady Eliza Spencer, Amelia admitted the family home is in the running for her .

She said: “It's our family home, it's beautiful.

“We would be very lucky to get married there."

But Amelia also suggested South Africa, and said: “Cape Town is where we grew up and there is a possibility that we might do it here, too."

Amelia also said in the interview for Tatler magazine her engagement to Greg was the “most romantic day of my life”.

She added: “He has been my best friend for 11 years and everything about him makes me feel like the luckiest person in the world."
