Susanna Reid, 50, is no stranger to the occasional nasty message sent by a troll on social media; after all, it's unfortunately part and parcel of being in the public eye and come to be expected by all who are in it. But she admitted there have been times where she's been left in tears after being targeted specifically for working with Good Morning Britain co-star, Piers Morgan.

Susanna has sat alongside Piers for five years but things haven't gotten any easier, as the outspoken presenter continues to receive thousands of abhorrent messages every day.

In a recent interview, she opened up about the initial reaction to working alongside the former Britain's Got Talent judge, and how his would target her after he blocked them.

The mum-of-three confessed it got to the point where she would burst into tears as soon as she got through the door at home.

"I used to get a lot of targeted abuse because someone didn't like what the person sitting next to me said," she said.

"Ben Shepherd is much more like a warm hug, whereas Piers Morgan is like sitting next to a pincushion.

"We do fight like Punch and Judy, verbally," she continued to tell The Times.

"We're sparring all the time."

Recently, she revealed she was taking some time away from social media to give herself a break from reading nasty comments.

The backlash she was receiving pushed her to "breaking point" and she decided enough was enough.
