William’s brother Prince Harry has said on several occasions that he fears history will “repeat itself” in reference to what their mother went through, and the manner in which she died. This was most recently seen in a clip released ahead of the broadcast of his and Meghan Markle’s interview with Oprah Winfrey, in which he said: “My biggest concern was history repeating itself.” He previously expressed these fears in an interview with ITV’s Tom Bradby during the Sussexes’ Africa tour.

Back then, he explained: “Everything that she went through and what happened to her is incredibly raw every single day, and that’s not me being paranoid, that’s me not wanting a repeat of the past.”
Harry added that he will “always protect” his family and it was no doubt a result of this attention, pressure and scrutiny that ultimately contributed to him and Meghan stepping down as senior royals.
However, he is not the only royal husband to have these concerns and William has also been very protective of Kate and their children.
In the early years of their relationship, William wrote to the press and even threatened legal action after Kate was harassed by photographers while trying to go about her life.
