Line of Duty: Nigel Boyle on the possibility of seventh series

Nigel Boyle who played Detective Superintendent Ian Buckells in Line of Duty appeared via video link on Monday’s BBC Breakfast to talk to Jon Kay and Louise Minchin about the finale of the BBC cop drama. In scenes which aired on Sunday night, Nigel’s character was finally revealed to be the fourth man, also known as H. As he discussed what it was like to keep his role a secret for so long, viewers couldn’t help but notice how the actor looked completely different to his Line of Duty character.

Another penned: “Hardly recognised “Buckells” on BBC Breakfast.”

A third added: “Buckells new identity is very effective.

“He looks totally different! Buckles has lost like three stone,” a fifth noticed.

In response, another joked: “Prison food.”

A sixth fan said: "Buckles on BBC Breakfast. I’d never have recognised him.”

The finale of Line of Duty, which aired on Sunday night, concluded with viewers finally discovering the identity of H.
