The smiling face of the weather forecast on BBC Breakfast, Carol was named Best Weather Presenter at the Television and Radio Industries Club Awards for the sixth year running earlier this year.
The 55-year-old presenter joined the BBC as a production secretary behind the camera before moving in front of the lens, gaining a whole new fan base after her appearance on Strictly Come Dancing in 2015.
Speaking to Countryfile Live visitors including Express.co.uk, Carol said: “I still pinch myself to think that it even happened. I started out when I was 12 by writing to the BBC and saying i’d like to be a Blue Peter presenter.
“They replied saying, ‘Get yourself a degree and then get back in touch with us’. I said, ‘A degree in what?’ and they replied, ‘A degree in absolutely anything’. So I did.Related articles
