GETTYGraham Taylor managed the England football team from 1990 until late 1993
Taylor, who died in January this year aged 72, is alleged to have discouraged Tony Brien, one of Ted Langford’s victims, from reporting what had happened to him.
According to evidence presented at the inquiry, the former England manager told Brien to “move on” after the teenager told the club in the 1987-88 season that he knew from personal experience, aged 12 to 14, that boys were at risk after he was abused at a feeder club for Leicester City.
Brien claims Taylor spoke to him over the phone and warned him that if the story went public it would make him the target of taunts from rival supporters.
