Ms James said Brexit Secretary David Davis will continue to work to strike a deal with the European Union despite admitting an agreement could favour Brussels.
She said: “We are very determined to get a good trade deal, that is the Government’s priority during these negotiations so I think it’s highly unlikely that we will be leaving the European Union without an outline of a good trade deal.
“The details may take longer to work out but there is no doubt in our objectives in getting a good trade agreement with the European Union among other things.”
