Philip Hammond to hand military veterans CASH BOOST with funds taken from ...

Military charities will receive the funding as the Chancellor divides up the remaining cash recuperated by the Government after money-grabbing bankers illegally fixed the Libor exchange rate.

Mr Hammond is set to use the budget to announce Help for Heroes will be given £1.5million to fund a new support programme for the most seriously injured veterans.

Meanwhile, the Birmingham based Scar Free Foundation Centre for Conflict Wound Research, which helps victims of burns and bomb injuries, is expected to be given £2.95million.

Speaking of their delight at receiving the Budget funding from the Government Help for heroes CEO, Melanie Waters, said: “These veterans are among the most inspirational and driven of our society.

“But it is a sad reality that their wounds and injuries are so severe that until now their needs could not be met because they were so complex.”

Speaking to the Sun she added: “We consider it out duty to ensure the government understands more about wounded veterans’ needs so that they can use this time to develop a package of support truly fit for purpose.”
