Remember the original Shabnam Masood in #EastEnders? She looks VERY different ...

Shabnam arrived in EastEnders as a university graduate who was undecided about the career path she wanted to follow.

She originally planned to go travelling but was forced to stay in Walford when she found out her parents Masood (played by Nitin Ganatra) and Zainab (Nina Wadia) were struggling financially.

Shabnam often came to blows with her mother who was not impressed with her friendship with Dawn Swann (Kara Tointon) and even less impressed when she caught her pole dancing.

Zainab tried to set up Jalil Iqbal with Shabnam and the pair shared a kiss.

But Jalil later revealed that he did not think she simple “great entertainment” and not marriage material so they ended their romance.

Zainab believed that Shabnam wanted to embrace British culture rather than learn about her family’s traditional Muslim culture.

Feeling conflicted she left Walford to find her roots in Pakistan.

Shabnam was played by Zahra during her time on the BBC soap between 2007-2008 before being recast
