With the ‘Beast from the East 2’ coming to an end, the UK will feel the wrath of the tail end of the weather phenomenon.
Commuters could find themselves met with icy roads and walks with freeing cold blasts of wind throughout the morning.
The Met Office’s Steven Keates said: “It’s been a bitterly cold weekend with some significant snow for some of us, disruptive snow at that.
“This morning, carrying on that cold theme, many places are below freezing to start off with, but thankfully the falling snow has largely petered out.

“But what we are left with is lying snow and where that is there’s a significant risk of ice this morning as well.”
The meteorologist has warned most of the country will wake up to negative temperatures.
Despite a fair amount of sunshine, the cold from the weekend will remain for most of the day.
He said: “Much of Scotland will see a glorious start to the day, lots of sunshine, but very cold out in the countryside, with temperatures well below freezing.
