More than a million Easter eggs have been hidden for Snapchatters to find, with points given for each egg found.

Regular Easter eggs net users one point while harder-to-find golden eggs are worth five points.

keeps tracks of points and will compare a user’s score to any friends that are also playing along.

Easter eggs have been hidden in public places like cinemas, restaurants, cafes and post offices.

However, not all users will be able to take part in the ‘Great Egg Hunt’.

The Easter 2018 activity is only available for users in the US and Canada - UK fans will be missing out, Newsweek reported.

It adds: “The hunt is on - collect as many eggs as you can through April 1st!

“Just tap a nearby egg on the Map to add it to your basket.
