Kate Middleton opts for new name with patriotic roots as betting is suspended

Kate Middleton, 36, and Prince William, 35, look likely to name the new royal baby Arthur, according to bookies - who think an insider has revealed all with a hefty bet.

The odds on the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge naming their third child Arthur have been lashed to 8-1 (from 12-1) following a surge of bets over the last 48 hours, according to Coral.

These odds mean if a bet of £5,000 was placed, if a little boy is born the bookies will pay out £8,333.33.

What is more, Paddy Power is now in agreement with Coral on the most likely choice for a little boys name.
