Martin Roberts says he's willing to take any risk in his pursuit of helping others after his near death experience when he underwent emergency heart surgery back in 2022.
The television presenter and property expert, 60, was told he had 'a few hours to live' and underwent life-saving surgery after suffering from pericardial effusion, a build-up of fluid in the structure around the heart.
He has since started to renovate the local pub and the Hendrewen Hotel in Blaencwm at the top of the Rhondda Fawr valley, enlisting the help of local schoolchildren who have lost their way and are keen to get involved in practical work in a bid to find some focus.
The Homes Under The Hammer host told The Sun: I’m now more motivated and desperate to get all the things done that I possibly can.

Owners of the much-loved village pub decided to close the business during lockdown and Martin snapped it up in 2022 as he felt the community had 'lost their heart'.
He didn't even tell his wife Kirsty, who he has been married to since 2010, about his plans.
The broadcaster has since found joy in seeing the change in troubled children who asked to assist with his project after difficult times, with the youngsters earning qualifications for their work.
