A Sky Sports reporter was mandhandled as he tried to catch a word with Liverpool's latest managerial sweetheart, Feyenoord boss Arne Slot.

Slot has emerged as the number one contender to succeed Jurgen Klopp and talks are developing quickly with Liverpool, who could even complete a deal this weekend. They might pay more than £10million in compensation for him.

Journalist Gary Cotterill grabbed a moment with Slot after he exited Feyenoord's team bus ahead of their Eredivisie match with Go Ahead Eagles tonight, but he had to be wary of getting too close.

A member of Slot's entourage had his hand on his shoulder and eventually put himself between Cotterill and the Dutchman, cutting short their chat.

For Liverpool fans, the fact that Slot was smiling when asked about his links to the club is an encouraging sign.
