LA Mayor Karen Bass embarrassingly retracted her tweet after the Lakers' first-round exit in the NBA playoffs.
After the 106-108 loss that saw the Purple and Gold on the receiving end of a gentleman's sweep against the Denver Nuggets, Bass took to Twitter with an enthusiastic tone toward their season.
'Tough season, but at least we won the in season tournament,' Bass said. 'Proud of our team @lakers.'
The Lakers won the inaugural NBA In-Season Tournament in December. Although it added another trophy to their case, it holds nowhere as much value as the team's 17 NBA
