Police in Nevada have released heartbreaking footage showing the moment officers rescued a eight-year-old girl and two dogs from an apartment fire. 

The incident happened at an apartment on Whitney Ranch Dr in Las Vegas last week, with officers responding to call that a mom and daughter were trapped inside. 

In the footage, officers with the Henderson Police Department can be seen making their way into the home, pointing flashlights through the smoke.

Seemingly out of nowhere, the young girl appears wrapped in a towel making her way towards the officers.

The officer can be heard saying: 'It's okay buddy, we got you. it's okay', the young girl replies, 'I want my mom', as she sobs hysterically.
