Ex-wife of Utah creep who repeatedly raped his severely-disabled stepdaughter ... trends now
A Montana family who heard the tragic tale of Ashley Vigil - the severely disabled woman who was raped repeatedly by her stepfather before dying - have spoken out about their own horrifying experience with Brian Urban, the now-convicted rapist.
Urban, 51, was recently convicted in Utah for five counts of rape and forcible sexual abuse - he was given the maximum sentence for his crimes, which were exacted against his stepdaughter, Ashley Vigil.
Vigil died in March of this year, after Urban's arrest, but before his April sentencing.
On the day of his sentencing, dozens rallied outside of the courthouse in support of Ashley, including Paula S., from Montana, who said she met Urban back in the 90s.
Now, she wonders if Ashley's fate could have been avoided had her family's own cries for help been heard.

According to local outlet 2KUTV, Paula - who wished to keep her last name anonymous - said she and Urban 'moved to Iowa in '96, and then we got married that following spring.'
She and Urban then had a son together, Kaeden, in addition to her two daughters, Kyrsten and Alysa.
The family moved states several times, and as years passed, the dynamic of the group shifted considerably.
Paula said Urban 'didn't like the way I was raising the kids,' and would abuse her verbally, at first. 'He was very controlling.'
Then, the alleged abuse turned physical.
'He would push me,' she recalled. 'The last time he got up behind me, and he put his arm around my neck, and the other one around my head. He said he could have snapped my neck, and I just said do it.
'Put me out of my misery. I can't do this anymore.'
Years ago, in Wyoming, arrest records show that Urban was convicted of strangulation and sentenced to three years of probation.
Eventually, both of Paula's daughters would come forward to accuse Brian of sexually assaulting them.
