#Corrie star hits back at Bethany grooming criticism: ‘It needs to be shown'

Addressing recent backlash that the scenes between the schoolgirl and creepy boyfriend Nathan Curtis (played by Chris Harper), the soap star said they “definitely” need to be shown early.

She explained: “I think it's really good that we're exploring the storyline and that we're playing it at this time.

“It needs to be out there, because it's a taboo subject that people don't necessarily want to speak about.

“The people we're trying to raise awareness for will be watching Coronation Street at that time – young girls, young boys and their parents.”
