South Korea military ‘PREPARING SURGICAL STRIKE’ against North Korea

The surgical strike would target North Korea’s missile and nuclear facilities, it is understood.

As part of the operation South Korea's forces would launch Taurus cruise missiles from F-15 fighters, it has been reported.

The South Korean military's own strike-hit scenarios are said to include plans to create a special mission brigade of 1,000 to 2,000 at the end of this year.

The reports come amid high tensions between North Korea and South Korea.

Last week North Korea launched the longest range intercontinental ballistic missile it has ever tested.

It flew for about 45 minutes, going 3,700 kilometres high and for a distance of 1,000 kilometres, according to analysis from the US and its allies.
