Carson Daly stepping down from Last Call after 17 years to spend more time with his family

He holds the title of the longest active run of hosting a late night talk show. 

And after 17 years in the top seat, Carson Daly is wrapping up Last Call With Carson Daly. 

The 45-year-old TV presenter revealed he would be stepping down to spend more time with his family.

'If you had told me in 2002 I would be a part of the historic NBC late-night family for 17 years, I would have said you were crazy,' he said in a statement. 

'Hard to believe it's been so long — 2,000 episodes. It's time to move on to something new and let someone else have access to this incredible platform.'  

NBC has confirmed that the star will however continue to remain a prominent face of the network with the star continuing his hosting duties on The Voice and Today show.
