She's definitely in need of some pampering after a difficult week.

And Hilary Duff appeared to be in great spirits as she left the nail salon in West Hollywood on Thursday afternoon.

The 31-year-old actress wore a double denim ensemble and carried a slew of bags as she headed to her car just days after thwarting a would-be break-in attempt at her home, according to TMZ.

Duff showed off a toothy grin outside of the salon in dark jeans and a grey shirt with a graphic print of Notorious B.I.G. 

She carried a white pair of trainers in one hand and a satchel full of food and clothing in the other, with a small black purse strapped across her shoulder. 

Hilary and boyfriend Matthew Koma reportedly managed to 'scare off' an intruder at their Beverly Hills home after being targeted by a would-be thief for a second time.

The couple were at home in their kitchen on Tuesday night when they 'noticed a man lurking around their backyard' at around 8:30 p.m.

Sources revealed that police arrived on scene and noticed a 'window screen had been removed' at the house while doing a perimeter search of the property.

Although the intruder didn't make it inside the house, the removal of the window suggests the intention was to gain entry.

It is not immediately clear how the couple scared off the trespasser. 

The source told TMZ that police have 'dispatched extra patrols around the area' and 'continue to investigate since the man's still on the loose'.
