Sylvia Jeffreys left Nine's Today show for A Current Affair in February. 

And on Monday's episode of the investigative program, the reporter confronted Sydney tradie Dylan Dahl over a fatal crash which killed his friend, 18, in 2016. 

However, during the awkward exchange, Dylan failed to remove his wireless earbuds and completely ignored the journalist's questions.

'Sylvia Jeffreys from A Current Affair, I'd just like to ask you a few questions about the crash in Dapto,' said the reporter, 33, while approaching Dylan. 

She continued: 'Why did you get behind the wheel that night?'

Appearing bemused by her presence, Dylan pointed to his earphones, with Sylvia then stumbling: 'If you, er, take your headphones out you'll be able to hear.'
