Carrie Bickmore went viral in February after sharing two photos of herself asleep with her then newborn baby daughter Adelaide.
One image was candid and realistic, while the other was posed and flattering, creating the perfect 'Instagram vs. reality' moment.
On Wednesday, the 38-year-old revealed the truth behind the photos during an appearance on The Weekly with Charlie Pickering.
Revealed: Carrie Bickmore opened up about her iconic viral baby photos in an interview on ABC's The Weekly on Wednesday
'When Chris, my partner, took the original photo I was asleep,' she explained.
'I had in my head how it was going to look and then when he showed it to me I was like, "Oh my god, is that what I look like?" I was mortified. I was pale, I was drained, I was exhausted. I had a four-week-old baby, that’s what I should have looked like.'
She then had Chris retake the photo to look more flattering, but was disappointed to see that the heart from the original candid image was missing.
