Zoe O'Brien delighted fans by appearing on Bachelor In Paradise earlier this year, five years after finding fame on Blake Garvey's series of The Bachelor in 2014.
And despite focusing on her career as a pharmacist during her time away from the spotlight, Zoe has revealed her life was dramatically derailed in December, 2017.
Taking to Instagram on Monday, the 29-year-old opened up about a horrifying accident she endured at work, and how she hid her huge facial scar for so long.
Bachelor In Paradise's Zoe O'Brien (pictured) has opened up about a horrifying workplace accident she suffered in December 2017 - and how she hid her huge facial scar for so long
After sharing a graphic photograph of her bloodied forehead stitched up and then in various states of recovery, Zoe explained how she sustained the injury.
'I was at the end of an 11 hour swift as a pharmacist and hadn't had a break all day, which is very normal, and I was racing through to the dispensary,' she said.
'And there's these metal drug drawers that line the wall. I'd accidentally left one open at head height, and it was completely my fault... I raced towards it and accidentally smashed my face straight onto it.'
During the brutal collision, Zoe lacerated her forehead to the bone, severed a muscle, fractured her skull and knocked herself out.
