David Campbell made headlines on Sunday when he sensationally claimed his four-year-old son Billy believes he is the 'reincarnation' of Princess Diana.
And despite David's eerily convincing account dividing public opinion, Queensland-based psychic medium Peter Williams believes it's possible the little boy does have a spiritual connection to the late Princess.
Peter, the author of Searching Spirit, told Daily Mail Australia on Wednesday that the child may even have information about the late royal's tragic death that isn't public knowledge.
Believer: A psychic medium has revealed why he believes Australian singer David Campbell's four-year-old son Billy (pictured) really IS Princess Diana reincarnated
'What usually happens when we have these instances of reincarnation, there is usually a reason for it and something left over,' Peter said.
'Billy will be able to give clarity and recall memories [from his time as Princess Diana]. It is very much in the realm [of possibility] that he could recall memories of the crash.'
'There's usually a level of trauma where they wish to come through and explain. With Princess Diana, it could very well be that,' he added.
Peter also believes that Princess Diana's 'reincarnation' was perhaps prompted by her sons, Prince Harry and Prince William, having children of their own as she may want to 'connect' with the grandchildren she never met.
Chilling: Peter Williams, who is the author of Searching Spirit, told Daily Mail Australia that Billy (left) may even have information about Diana's (right) death that isn't public knowledge
Claims: 'There's usually a level of trauma, where the [spirit] wishes to come through... With Princess Diana, it could very well be that,' said Peter (pictured) on Wednesday
David went public with his family theory in Stellar magazine on Sunday, explaining that Billy first identified as Diana when he was two years old.
The little boy had apparently pointed at a photograph of Diana and said: 'Then one day the sirens came and I wasn't a princess anymore'.
Peter finds Billy's claims believable because children have more 'freedom to access those memories' and he is 'in the age bracket where the spirit is pertinent'.
But he warned David and his wife Lisa that they must proceed with caution if they wish to discover any royal secrets.
'With any child, whether they're Princess Diana or not, when you're asking questions you want to be asking generic ones and not leading ones,' he said.
'A child's mind is easily led. You can't tell them what you're looking for. It is going to be so hard now to get this information without contaminating it, or without having a sense of bias or leading their son into this.'
The beyond: 'It is very much in the realm [of possibility] that he could recall memories of the crash,' added Peter, referencing Princess Diana's death in Paris on August 31, 1997 (pictured)
