Angry: The presenter shared the scathing response by insisting she 'works really hard' and 'tries her best at everything'
The nasty response came after BBC One posted a clip of Stacey showing off some of her dance moves with The One Show co-host Matt Baker, who also competed on Strictly in 2010.
Stacey's post was soon flooded with supportive messages from fans, who insisted she full deserved her success after years of hard work as a documentary maker.
One wrote: 'A girl who has made the most of all the opportunities she has been given.'
A second posted: 'If you weren't so quick to jump to conclusions you would find that Stacey is a fantastic intelligent and well accomplished journalist and documentary maker. I suggest next time pal, that you think before you tweet!'
A third added: 'Whoa that green-eyed monster is out of control. Nasty nasty nasty.'
